The research team developed a methodology for engagement with knowledge workers aged over 50 in three knowledge-based industries: pharmaceuticals, technology and financial services. By working with academic partners in Japan and Australia, host corporate organisations in London, Yokohama and Melbourne were identified and approached for their participation. The London site was devised as the pilot study; Japan was selected as it has the fastest ageing population in the world, Australia as it has a relatively young population but faces the same ageing curve as the UK. One pharmaceutical company in London and one technology company in Yokohama hosted major site-specific interventions. Two banks in Melbourne also participated in the work.
